The Inventory Control Specialist Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the complete life cycle of inventory which includes requisitioning, receiving, storing, stock chasing, disbursing, transferring, exchanging, shipping, and delivering items. This position is also responsible for other related areas such as inventory control, discrepancy resolution, and inventory inspection based on Company regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities: Your main responsibilities in this role include the following: Maintain inventory within established specifications and in serviceable condition by following appropriate procedure to exchange a broken tool, to request repairs, or to requisition additional supplies Create purchase orders and communicate with vendors Maintain, track and store warranty parts. Count physical inventory; check minimums/maximums Examine items visually and manually for defects or wear Sort serviceable and non-serviceable items, based on their condition, into appropriate bins Lift, carry, and pull items from stock; load/unload, pack/unpack items, and related physical work Store items according to company, fire, safety, and good housekeeping regulations and practices Clean and services equipment used to keep it in operating condition; reports need for repairs Complete, verify and route forms according to procedure Give data on stock to authorized Company personnel Work according to company regulations and procedures and instructions from Crew Chief or Supervisor Maintain company vehicle records, schedule repairs, and take vehicles to repair shop when needed. Pick up parts and materials from off-site vendor when needed. Administrative paperwork within the office (new hire paperwork, assist with badging process all other assignments etc.) Required Education and Experience: Education: High School Diploma. Valid Driver’s License Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Ability to lift items up to 50-70 lbs. Possess the legal right to work in the United States Other requirements: Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport ID Badge Preferred Qualifications: Experience using computer software. Experience working with scanners CDL License Preferred Twelve (12) months experience in general warehouse or similar type supply function involving receiving, shipping, and binning material by parts number Knowledge – Skills – Abilities (Competencies): Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs Willing and able to work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating days off Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills Customer and service oriented Proactive and strong work ethic and initiative, who would like to grow and develop within the organization. Pro-active attitude towards process improvement. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full time position-40 hours per week; night, weekend, overtime, and holiday work are common. Travel: This position requires local travel only. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Operators work in the secured baggage handling areas, in repair stations, or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules. Workers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee frequently lifts and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates. They will be lifting parts and tolls for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as conveyor systems. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration. The environment can also be loud because of aircraft engines and equipment.
