Buyer & Inventory Planner · Inventory Planning – with emphasis on seasonality and trend analysis · Inventory Control · Locate, select and purchase merchandise for resale, representing company in purchase negotiations · Ensure inventory is purchased, stocked and consistently replenished · Product Development – In conjunction with Creative Director and Business Development Director · Work closely with in-house production department to build product to maintain inventory levels of domestically assembled products · Knowledge of retail packaging and processes · Private Labeling experience and understanding · Knowledge and understanding of international business, specifically dealing with Asia (China, Hong Kong & Taiwan) · Working knowledge of all laws and regulations relating to procurement and contracts · Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems · Understanding Market trends · Bring about upgrades, advancements and improvements to current purchasing processes that will lower the cost of doing business based on the data being analyzed · Understanding of Landed Costs, tariffs and duties · Understanding of profit margins · Work with CEO and business development director to determine products the company will sell, help set prices based on the market and competition · Create profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving inventory to help offset losses · Maintain and update company pricelist · Housewares experience a plus but not necessary · Work with CEO, CFO and Business Development Director on profitability analysis · Analyze past and current product performance and recommend areas to improve profitability · Knowledge of ocean freight and container consolidation · Experience in managing hundreds of SKU’s Key Competencies: · Communication Skills · Supply Chain and Procurement Knowledge · Inventory Management and Planning · Negotiating Skills · Planning and organizational skills · Analytical Skills · Problem solving Travel: · Ability to travel to Hong Kong and Chicago annually, typically for one week annually (when this is permitted again) Education & Experience: · College degree in business, supply chain, materials management or related field. · Five to eight years of purchasing management experience · Experience in purchasing overseas, ideally with China Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $50,000.00 per year Benefits: Schedule: Supplemental Pay: COVID-19 considerations: A full detailed copy of our COVID protocols and procedures can be made available if requested.
