Inventory Clerk (Parts & Supplies)

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for Inventory control and daily receiving stocking, delivery and distribution of supplies for departments within the Terminal Facility. QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Must have a minimum one (1) year of experience in a marine, trucking terminal or warehouse environment as tool room, inventory or supply clerk
- Must have one (1) year minimum experience operating 9k forklift transporting safely and efficiently
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Computer skills (MS-, Outlook & Excel)
- Must have a clean and valid DL (Driver’s License)
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak Intermediate English.
- Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information
- Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative and multitask
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
- Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.
- Must be able to work (flexible hours) extended hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary
- Perform all functions in accordance with operation and safety guidelines
- Attends to employees at the counter with order requests for spare and replacement parts for equipment and expendable items.
- Accounts for all inventory of parts for equipment and maintains inventory records. All inventory functions are tracked through the company’s database, a hand-held device weighing less than five (5) pounds.
- Maintain a daily distribution and receiving log for all Distribution System Technology (DST) and Purchasing Order (PO) items and system enter information in an excel spreadsheet
- Perform inventory cycle counts and maintains inventory records for departments: Resin, Chassis M& R, Refer, Crane, Mechanic Shop and Safety.
- Maintain and verify inventory/stock at least thrice a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays)
- Operate a 9K lb. forklift to load and unload tires in/ out of containers and stack them and to load and unload items when receiving palletized shipments
- Receive, stock, deliver and issues spare and replacement parts for equipment, and expendable items used in repair or maintenance shops throughout the Terminal
- Submit daily delivery tickets to Accounting
- Assist as parts counter, providing parts and assistance to employees
- Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e. vehicles, people, equipment, etc.) at all times
Secondary
- Operate golf cart, 9k forklift or company truck to pick up incoming parts or deliver parts to units in other buildings, containers or locations
- Perform general labor duties to include, sweeping & cleaning warehouse
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
- Provide water consumption for all departments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Subject to physical and/or DOT Screening is required along with other tests as applicable
- The employee is occasionally required to sit (while driving), grasp and exercise eye-hand coordination and eye-hand-foot coordination
- The employee is frequently required to reach forward, exercise repetitive foot and wrist motion and finger dexterity
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use their fingers
- The employee is frequently required to talk and hear
- The employee is continuously required to stand, walk, bend forward, squat, twist, pinch and reach overhead
- The employee is constantly required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 55lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives direct supervision from the Inventory Control Supervisor and does not exercise supervision over any other position.
CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, cold, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts
- The employee is continuously exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
