Job Responsibilities: PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
The International Human Resources Business Partner (International HRBP) is a human resources generalist on domestic and international operations of the human resources management. This position is responsible for aligning organizational objectives with employees and management in designated departments. The International HRBP serves as the primary Human Resources point of contact for members of assigned departments, and acts as a trusted advisor and coach to the department’s leadership team. Identifies stated and underlying needs and develops talent strategies and solutions for the department. Collaborates closely with Human Resources functions to develop and implement talent solutions, advocating for the needs of the department in organization-wide HR program development and implementation. The International HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, mid-range plans, culture and competition.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred. HR certification (GPHR, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of overall work experience with recruitment/talent acquisition in a fast-pace environment required and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an international human resources generalist role. Experience in a non-profit environment and with USAID/Donor funded projects is preferred. Experience with proposal recruiting, international recruiting highly desirable. Knowledge of allowances such as Rest & Recuperation, Post Differential, Danger Pay, SMLA is highly desirable. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Experience in an international NGO context highly desired working on contracts and cooperative agreements and/or USAID/Donor funded projects.
Related Skills or Knowledge: Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret business documents in varying circumstances, effectively provide solutions to varying unique challenges and respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints. High degree of attention to detail and excellent organization skills; proficient at handling high volumes of work and multi-tasking; high degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication skills and Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluency in English is required and proficiency in at least one other language is desired.
TRAVEL: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict zones.
