JOB DESCRIPTION

Brynn Olson Design Group is an award-winning, full-service interior design firm seeking design talent to join their dynamic team. As Design Assistant you are responsible for assisting in the execution of successful projects in the creative and project management alongside the Interior Designer and Architectural Interior Designer from start to finish. In addition to assistance with research, organizational and administrative portions of your projects, you'll hone a strong skill set in new construction spaces, gut renovations, custom furniture design and the total completion of a turnkey project.

Ideal candidate will have impeccable organization and communication skills, ability to work as a team in managing task flows, and ready to jump in as a seamless part of the design “family.” Must be highly motivated, well organized, detail oriented, a strong communicator, and a fun-loving team player.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Photoshop is required and knowledge of Studio Webware and Outlook is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Interior Designer in managing and organization of design projects
  • Assist in all phases in a project from beginning to turnkey final installation
  • Assist Architectural Interior Designer with project management of construction projects including schedules and documents
  • Project management of ordered items from finishes/construction stage to furnishings phase
  • Pricing FFE and vast knowledge of trade sources
  • Project management of all FFE purchased
  • Assist with space planning in AutoCAD including elevations and custom furniture drawings
  • Assist with execution of AutoCAD construction documents including electrical and lighting
  • Assistance with budget planning and management
  • Organize and execute flawless final turnkey installation including styling with accessories
  • Provide general support to clients with strong communication abilities when necessary
  • Assistance with invoicing and project-based administration
  • Assistance with photoshoots and styling
  • Ability for occasional out of town travel

Key Qualifications + Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience or applicable internship required
  • Experience in Commercial design a plus
  • Proficiency of AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office (Powerpoint in particular)
  • Proficiency in Outlook 360 and Studio Webware preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with positive can-do attitude
  • Fun and friendly people-person with paramount integrity eager to excel
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and transportation
