During the school year, Camp Fire works in partnership with dozens of schools in the Metro Area. During the summer months, we offer summer camps in the Portland metro area and at our beautiful 552-acre camp, Camp Namanu, bordered by the vibrant Sandy River and presided over by century old trees. Our programs directly serve over 4,000 kids ages 5- 18 each year across an eight-county area, including the greater Portland metro region. Camp Fire Columbia helps serve an additional 11,000 children and families annually through partnerships and special projects. For more information, please visit: http://campfirecolumbia.org/ Position Overview: This position is responsible for supporting the Camp Namanu Director of Property (Director of Property) in all aspects of facility upkeep and maintenance. This is a 6-month interim position with the possibility of extension depending on internal hiring outcomes and job performance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Job Duties: Other: Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises the seasonal maintenance staff, volunteers, contracted workers and others as needed in the absence of the Director of Property. A high level of competence in all facets of facility maintenance, including but not limited to all aspects of carpentry and building, plumbing, electrical, septic, lawn and garden. Challenge course instruction experience is a plus. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Computer Skills: Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, download forms, and preserve/backup important data. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: This position requires a valid Oregon Food Handler’s card and First Aid & CPR certification. This position requires a valid insurable Driver’s License.
