Kalispell Regional Healthcare has an opportunity for a resource skilled in data analysis and programming. This SQL development and business intelligence (BI) analyst will assist with determining the data needs of the organization, will structure it in an appropriate format, will analyze the data using queries, and will create reports and visualizations for operational decision-makers. Using knowledge and experience in SQL development and experience with analytics tools such as Tableau or MicroStrategies, this developer/analyst will participate with healthcare operational leaders to understand complex operational data, and will run complex queries on the organization’s databases to sort and filter data. They will also participate in determining and developing the right approach for presenting data to management using analytical and dashboard visualization tools.
The Integration Analyst/Developer II is responsible for providing the application integration to meet the organizations demands of information in a flexible, accurate, and timely manner. This includes reviewing, analyzing and supporting interfaces and interface engine technologies.Responsibilities: 1. *Demonstrates high quality customer service skills serving our HIT customers and internal HIT service line partners, including appropriate communication with our customers, consistent follow through on issues and timely escalation of issues as needed. Supports the corporate philosophy, mission, and vision through customer/staff interactions.
2. *Demonstrates good communication skills, able to communicate with end-users, customers, and HIT service line partners and collaborators.
3. *Demonstrates ability to work with end-user customers in order to identify project scope, functional requirements, and timelines, and to participate in and/or lead projects, including maintaining project timelines, provide appropriate documentation, document functional requirements and detailed specifications.
4. *Demonstrates ability to self-manage assuming full ownership of all outcomes start to finish. Able to multitask and prioritize tasks, using appropriate critical decision-making.
5. *Provides user support, including (but not limited to) configuring interfaces, analyzing data transmitted in HL7 segments (and fields, components and sub-components), modifying interface code, building or modifying interface mapping tables/dictionaries, troubleshooting, reporting issues to vendors, and effectively executing downtime procedures.
6. *Demonstrates understanding of the integration between modules and the interaction/impact changes cause within the modules. Executes testing in an integrated environment while incorporating quality management concepts such as auditing, accurate testing scenarios, and follow through.
7. *Demonstrates project and implementation skills, including understanding of and participation in planning, design and build, testing, end-user training, and cutover and go-live activities. Demonstrates knowledge of work plans and managing tasks and timelines. Facilitates and/or leads small group projects as assigned.
8. *Works in a team environment to design, develop, implement and support multi-platform application interface solutions and services to clients using an integration engine. Monitors, optimizes and enhances interface engine performance and configuration. Performs required system maintenance by applying fixes and updates to current software.
9. Develop, code, test, and implement system data conversions, reports, custom data extractions, and import solutions as assigned.
10. Supports database management activities, including efficient and effective data warehouse system design, detailed documentation of specifications, comprehensive data needs analysis, and timely and efficient data warehouse population, reporting and management.
11. Pursues opportunities for self-development. Stays current with industry trends as they relate to job responsibilities. Provides research on new technology and takes responsibility for ongoing enhancement of skills to keep up with changing technologies.
12. *Accountable to maintain a knowledge base of applicable Federal and State regulations and implement regulatory changes as required.Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent is preferred; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive experience in healthcare application integration and knowledge of healthcare messaging standards such as HL7, X12, DICOM, networks, transports and TCP/IP preferred. Experience with an industry standard integration engine (Rhapsody, Mirth, Corepoint or similar) preferred.
3. Working knowledge of healthcare information technology and operations preferred. Knowledge of both structured and non-structured clinical data formats (ADT, Labs. Clinical notes), expertise in standard healthcare code sets (ICD-9/10, SNOMED, LOINC) preferred. Experience with MEDITECH preferred.
4. In-depth knowledge and experience of software development tools and their use across platforms, including one or more of the following technologies preferred: Access, SQL, Visual Basic, SSIS, SSRS, or DIVER on a Windows and/or UNIX platform, networks, application integration, or middleware products.
5. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with department heads and user personnel in ascertaining and converting needs from current practices to appropriate information technology solutions.
6. Analytical skills necessary to analyze business problems, and apply computer technology to resolve them, and/or increase system platform efficiency of information systems required.
7. Ability to organize, prioritize and handle details with ease, while being able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail and maintain a good understanding of how one or more applications function.
