Integrated Master Planner

Overview: VTG is seeking an Integrated Master Planner to support our Virginia Beach, VA office. Responsibilities: Analyze new Task Order (TO) Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), developed by the Estimating function, and prepare the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), to delineate the Activity List and associated budgets required to execute the Task Order. Establish and maintain the master TO POA&M baseline. Provide Project Management support to production department Project Managers (PjM). Must have a thorough knowledge of Project Management processes, procedures, and practices. Implements risk response plan and recommends work-arounds. Advanced experience with project management applications, particularly MS Project.
Specific duties include:
- Provides direction and makes sure there is alignment between multiple functions within the business
- Dynamically adjusts output as external variables and priorities based on trends and reports. Facilitates communication and provide feedback on operational performance
- Closely partners with leadership team to ensure schedule meets all facets of the business (On time delivery and Sales/EBIT)
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly updates regarding plan and progress to plan
- Subject Mater Expect regarding internal and external supply chains
- Provide analysis and project support to assigned workload which includes reviewing scope of work and schedule performance
- Develop schedules that include phasing lead time, project milestones, and represent critical relationships between operational tasks as required to plan, coordinate, and visualize all significant purchasing and operations activities
- Advise management of risks that may affect project profit, costs, and schedules
- Responsible for the facilitation of the Sales and Operations Planning process
- Develop complex analyses for the specific area of expertise
- Understand business forecasts and pinpoint any areas of vulnerability of company requirements, making recommendations on how to proactively reduce risk
- Lead procurement kick-off meetings with the procurement team defining the scope of the award and expectations on order placement
- Evaluate the contract flow downs from the Contracts department and ensure the appropriate flow-downs are identified and passed on to Purchasing
- Interact with Program Management on Program Cost issues and required details.
- Measure Target Costs against Proposal Costs and work with Supply Chain Management on methods to meet targets
- Consolidate requisitions to obtain leverage pricing
- Review open requisitions weekly and meet with appropriate Supply Chain Manager on the progress of order placement
- Review placement to requisition need date and length of time in purchasing
- Advise planning, engineering and drafting of item master errors, updates, or omissions in relation to mil-specs or new or obsolete items
- Advise planning, engineering and contracts of changes in prices or lead times that make and produce cost-prohibitive or lead times detrimental to production cycles
- Be the communication interface between commodity buyers and their suppliers with the program teams
- Attend weekly Program meetings and identify any “potential” issues that can be addressed early on
- Expedite critical components to ensure on-time deliveries. Be prepared to address any current or potential parts issues
- Look for creative ways to improve purchasing ability to make contributions to the company’s goals
- Improve understanding of purchasing relationship to the over-all company plans and strategy
- Represent Supply Chain during Customer Negotiations and Customer Program reviews; review and validate any bids; supply copies of POs/LOCs; prepare charts for Customer presentations
- Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
- Utilize Power Pivot, Power Query and Power BI to transform DataMart raw data into manageable information
- May have accountability to perform cost and pricing analysis on a supplier’s proposal and audit the proposal of the supplier
Qualifications: Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business/Engineering) plus three; Associate Degree and six years of related work experience; or High School and ten years experience of related work experience.
- Must have working knowledge of functional groups such as Finance, Contracts, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures
- Successful track record as part of a Project Management Team
- Experienced in Schedule building and Analysis.
- Familiarity Project Management and Scheduling best practices
- Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities
Other Qualifications:
- Must be available to travel as required, especially local travel.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Must have experience with CostPoint
