Work you’ll do/Responsibilities
- Review Project scope and identify impact for in scope applications and business areas
- Understand and follow Project Test Strategy, including scope of testing, execution schedule, and dependencies
- Understand and identify risk, issues, for the testing scope related to their work area
- Participate as needed in Project specific testing activities
- Work with assigned test leads and provide guidance for definition of test scenarios applicable to the Project scope
- Prepare test objectives for test coverage and validation
- Participate in knowledge transfer session and validate their test objectives through cross team review
- Create test scenarios (detailed steps and expected behavior) and upload to test management tools
- Ensure that correct bi-directional traceability is established for linking test cases with the business requirements
- Identify and setup test data needed to support test case execution
- Identify test environment readiness for Project test execution
- Develop entry and exit criteria for Project test execution
- Execute test cases and create defects for failed scenarios following the project standards and testing best practices
- Ensure that correct traceability is established for linking defects with the test cases
- Consolidate Test execution status and report out progress to Test Leads
- Provide UAT support and explain tested functionality to the UAT testers as applicable
- Participate in defect triage and confirm that the defined defect management process is followed
- Escalate issues and risks to Test Leads and Managers, and provide remediation ideas
- Develop Project test execution summary based on test execution results
- Assist with its finalization of test closure activities such as lesson learnt, defect/execution trends

Our Human Services Transformation team works to help transform how our Government and Public Services clients deliver their services to customers across a variety of channels such as walk-in, mail-in, call center, and self-service applications.
We deliver large, complex systems development and transformation projects to Human Service agencies at the federal, state, and local government level enabling us to collaborate with clients who serve those most in need. Budget constraints paired with increased demand for human services have challenged our clients to find efficiencies, do “more with less,” and rethink the way they deliver services.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Testing and QA with deep functional knowledge of one or more Public Sector offerings such as:
- Health and Human Services (Integrated Eligibility, Child Care, Child Welfare, Child Support, Long Term Care, etc.)
- Unemployment Insurance
- Unemployment Compensation
- Transportation
- 3+ years of experience in QA Testing (5+ years overall IT experience preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with test plan creation, unit, integration, regression, and functional testing techniques
- Strong understanding of web technologies and methodologies (XML, SOAP, REST, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of test planning, test scenario design, execution, monitoring & reporting
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to provide testing guidance to end clients
- Experience in using various testing methodologies and tools is essential
- Ability to analyze test results against functional design and expected results
- Thorough knowledge of Defect life cycle and experience managing defect creation, tracking, prioritization and coordinate resolution with multiple development teams and functional leads
- Deep hands-on knowledge of at least 2 manual testing tools such as Jira, Jama, Microsoft Test Manager, Rational Quality Manager, HP ALM
- Deep knowledge of test data management practice, hands-on experience with SQL queries and ability to coordinate test data across teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly and translate requirements effectively to test design
- Ability to support multiple work streams as well as multiple priorities
- Experience with Public Sector solutions: specific to: Health and Human Services (Integrated Eligibility, Child Care, Long Term Care, etc.)
- Experience with different modules in an Integrated Eligibility system such as Eligibility, Notices, Reports & Interfaces
- Little to no daily supervision as well as ability to provide testing guidance to a small team of 3-4 testers
- Experience in using various testing methodologies and tools is essential. In addition, they should have experience translating project requirements to test requirements, writing test cases, scripts, identifying or creating test data and executing test cases. The candidate should know how to record results in a system logging and tracking defects in system
Travel up to 20% annually (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
