Responsibilities
  • Assist the leadership teams to collect, analyze and interpret school-wide data to enhance improvement efforts
  • Assess education needs to address the school(s) student achievement priorities/goals through multiple data collection methods (e.g. surveys, questionnaires, and observations)
  • Analyze results to identify training and education gaps, and provide guidance and direction to management officials for the development of intervention strategies.
  • Identify performance deficiencies and future mission and program needs through on-going assessment and develop instructional solutions.
  • Collaborate with school educational teams to develop professional learning plans for developing rigorous teaching, leading, and learning practices.
  • Establish benchmarks and action steps to create sustainable, school-wide transformation and changes in classroom practice for the improvement of student outcomes.
  • Differentiate coaching methods in response to teacher and student readiness and interests to continuously grow teacher practice
  • Provide research and guidance for establishing professional learning priorities and setting targets for aligning planning for teaching and learning
  • Develop and support professional learning communities for school educational teams and teachers
  • Collaborate with the education technologist to model the integration of technology as a teaching and learning tool across the curriculum
  • Participate in facilitator professional learning communities and networks to maintain skills, share effective implementation practices, and resolve common implementation and monitoring issues
  • Conduct on-going analysis to make informed decisions in designing, developing, and modifying professional learning/school(s)?s educational programs.
  • Analyze trends and disaggregated data to develop plans in assessing the effectiveness of instructional practices
  • Align district and school goals and to evaluate student data to support effective school improvement
  • Ensure the effective implementation of standards, instruction, and assessment to increase student achievement
  • Support teachers in developing a collaborative model of co-teaching, observation, dialog, and lesson demonstration
  • Mentor teachers through non-evaluative, non-judgmental coaching that builds self-directedness and internal capacity for planning, self-assessment and reflection
  • Conduct professional development face-to-face and virtual sessions in such areas as, curriculum standards and tools and common assessments
  • Participate in regular networking and professional development planning to support school program implementations addressing issues as: school culture and appropriate follow-up activities for sustaining change.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the Education and Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

    Minimum Education Requirement: A Master's degree in the field of Education. The course work must have been completed at or accepted by a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. The undergraduate/graduate course work must have included study in at least three of the following five areas:
    1. Learning theory, psychology of/earning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
    2. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
    3. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
    4. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
    5. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training.

    Specialized Experience Requirement (5 years): Specialized experience is experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PreK-12th grade education and training. This experience must have been in Literacy grades PK-5.

    AND

    Specialized Experience Requirement (5 years): Specialized experience is experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PreK-l2th grade education and training. This experience must have been in Social Studies grades PK-5.

    1. The work may be evaluated and interpreted by the International Education Research Foundation, Inc., Credential Evaluation Service, Post Office Box 3665, Culver City, CA 90231-3665 or www.ierf.org/ or 310-258-9451.
    2. The foreign institution that awarded the degree is on a list endorsed by a regionally accredited university or on a list endorsed by a state department of education for the purpose of teacher certification in that state (this procedure will require an English translation of the transcript and a copy of the document awarding the degree, together with an authenticated list produced by an American university or a state department of education); and
    3. The work may be evaluated by the graduate division of a regionally accredited university and declared the equivalent of similar undergraduate or graduate work in a U.S. institution.Graduates of non-accredited institutions may have their undergraduate work validated by admittance to graduate school and completion of a minimum of 5 SH of credit in a regionally accredited graduate college.
