Townsend Building Supply, a leading supplier of lumber and building materials in the Wiregrass area, is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our growing team in Ozark, AL. Must have weekend availability. The role of Inside Sales is to sell Townsend products and services to customers within the retail store setting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting customers as they come in the store.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions.
• Responding to customer inquiries regarding product information, placement of orders, requests for pricing and provide customer follow-up when necessary.
• Accepting payments and apply the payments correctly to the appropriate customer account.
• Answering phones when necessary.
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of all existing product lines and new product lines.
• Maintain knowledge of pricing, inventory, merchandise promotions, and advertisements.
• Working with customers to identify and provide solutions to their product needs.
• Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the needs of customers are consistently met in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintaining shelf stock to provide merchandise to meet customer needs.
• Assisting with conducting physical inventory.
• Maintaining cleanliness on the store floor and surrounding areas at all times.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of the ideal candidate include, but are not limited to, the following:

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.
• Strong customer service skills.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail sales.
• Strong interest in learning the building material product lines.
• Excellent verbal and bon-verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of current office technology.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
