The Job Responsibilities Provide support within the NA Region’s Network/Server Team. Provide support and daily administration of our networks, both local and Global (LAN/WAN, WLAN, Virtualized, etc.). Adhere to established procedures and policies to support regional services. Propose and design new ideas/concepts to the overall team based on experience and knowledge, including architecture and back-end systems. Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of network hardware, systems software and related infrastructure. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities; upgrade end user applications. Configure / add new services as necessary; specifically, VMWare platform and Network Device Operating Systems. Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, storage environments and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and values. Install new / rebuild existing networks and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Support network environment and provide senior level leadership for hardware issues including server builds, configuration, installs and upgrades, operating systems, data backup and other software and hardware tools. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, network resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs. Ensure the timeliness and completion of network backup operations. Mitigate and resolve any issues, including escalations to vendors/suppliers. Provide Tier III support to the Infrastructure Operations Team on workstation and application support issues, user and application account administration as well as coaching and mentoring both Systems Administrators as well as Field Service IT team members to enhance their skills. Work both independently as well as with guidance from the manager or project lead. Maintain task status and documentation, server and network diagrams and provide reports to management as requested. Performs other duties as needed and assigned. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline or the equivalent in education, training and relevant experience. Minimum 3 years network administration experience Expertise with virtualized systems Proficient with Cisco and other network gear and technologies Expert-level technical skills, attention to detail and ability to work in stressful high paced environments Virtual networking Understanding of the Transport layer (TCP, UDP, ports) Basic understanding and usage of Network analysis tools Trunk/Access port VLANs Linux/UNIX experience a plus Azure/AWS experience a plus In North America, Draeger employees over 1,400 employees working in our major sites in the United States and Canada (in the US: Andover, MA; Telford, PA; Houston / Coppell, TX, and in Canada: Mississauga, ON), including our Sales and Service workforce employees from coast to coast.
