THE POSITION Are you looking for a rewarding career in Information Technology? Primary purpose of the Department of Human Services (DHS) Information Technology Technician is to provide support to computer users in the Human Services Local Area Network (LAN). This position requires an in-depth understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, devices and software applications and the ability to independently setup and configure PC equipment, as well as identify, research and resolve first-tier technical problems as determined by the Information Technology administration. May be required to work outside of normal hours. QUALIFICATIONS Benefit packages are determined by the county and may vary. Respond to telephone calls and email from personnel requesting technical support from the DHS Help Desk. Document, track and monitor all technical problems to ensure a timely resolution. Ability to lift, move and transport equipment weighing as much as 50 pounds. Install and test client applications, including communication software. Perform routine office duties. Travel and report to other offices as needed to support Human Services computer users.
