    DutiesSummary

    You will serve as as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GG-13 grade level responsible for validating, maintaining and/or developing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) packages in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON) and Intelligence Community (IC) directives.


    Responsibilities
    • You will provide direct support to the Information Assurance Management and customers to include project managers, system developers, and system administrators.
    • You will conduct security and vulnerability analysis and general security controls reviews.
    • You will perform security documentation reviews using System Development Life Cycle methodology.
    • You will develop and conduct security tests and evaluations based on ICD 503, DOD RMF and NIST Special Publications.
    • You will utilize experience with automated vulnerability tools as well as DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) documentation.
    • You will monitor and track packages in the MANIFEST/XACTA RMF requirements tracking mechanism.
    • You will consult with IT and security staff to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications and software.
    • You will utilize comprehensive knowledge of Federal, Intelligence Community and DoD Information Security regulations, publications, and policies, such as DCID 6/3, ICD 503, DIACAP and NIST Special Publications.
    • You will develop, maintain, and/or validate security documentation including Assessment and Authorization activities.

    • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area (61).

    Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies, as defined:

    In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:
    • Providing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) related recommendations and guidance regarding Information Assurance (IA) and assessment problems.
    • Administering cyber security controls to ensure protective measures maintain and strengthen confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and information systems.
    • Conducting periodic security reviews of information systems and implements security safeguards.
    • Providing recommendations on cyber Information Assurance (IA) standards, implementation dependencies, and changing technologies.
    • Providing technical oversight and enforcement of security directives, orders, standards, plans and procedures.

    This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area (61) and as a condition of employment incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:

    • Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;
    • Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
    This position performs a primary cyber work role of [612], per the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework.

    This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
