What you’ll be doing.
The Identity Design Brand Manager is responsible for the successful development and deployment of brand identity and applications across the Verizon portfolio. This includes seeing the process from development to execution. This position reports to the Director of Brand Management.
- Responsible for defining, concepting, and leading identity direction.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to oversee identity design initiatives from concept ideation to final execution and release.
- Conceptualize, manage, and implement complex brand identity design systems.
- Specialist in creative, brand design systems and strategy in the development, creation, and rollout of new visual identity ecosystems.
- Conceptual thinker, strategically applying ideas, names, and messaging across all customer channels.
- Manage and integrate the coordination and planning of brand identity initiatives with internal clients, external specialists, and partner agencies to the work, and creative/identity process.
- Understand how brand design principles, identity design architecture, and naming fit into Verizon’s strategic goals.
- Articulate your design intent through continuous communication to build clarity and trust with colleagues.
- Lead internal presentations and participate in presentations to stakeholders and leaderships.
- Assist with keeping deliverables and schedule aligned on given project.
- Motivate, inspire teamwork, and take a leadership role.
- Meet with partners to align on marketing/creative strategy, as well as collaborating with other cross-functional partners to drive identity strategy and execution.
- Gather, prepare, and present conceptual ideas by designing rough layout of art and copy arrangement, size, style, and related aesthetics.
- Commitment to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners
- Interpret and influence creative briefs to create customer-focused positioning and creative communications strategies that drive defined KPIs.
What we’re looking for.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or business.
- A deep knowledge of and interest in creative and strategic brand management.
- A high affinity towards innovation, trends, and new technologies.
- Ability distinguish yourself through your strong social skills – written and verbal.
- Ability to be motivated and driven self-starter with a distinct can-do-attitude.
- Leadership/management experience of complex brand identity programs and projects for leading premium product or service brands.
- Knowledge of research and insight practices and their role in identity/naming process.
- Strong client/stakeholder engagement orientation with prerequisite business acumen and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional written communication; creative briefing in particular.
