POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of physicians and general guidance from the Technical Supervisor and HBO Safety Officer, performs diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency functions for pediatric to geriatric aged patients treated in the Hyperbaric Medicine Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• 
  Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform hyperbaric dives in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to function inside the hyperbaric chamber to assess and monitor patient tolerance to treatment.

• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to lift objects in excess of 150 lbs (with assistance).
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to assess hyperbaric patients.
• Demonstrates familiarity with advanced technical analysis of hyperbaric procedures.
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to provide complete documentation for each procedure and maintain necessary records.
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to practice proper care, usage and maintenance of the Hyperbaric Center equipment.
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers to assure quality patient care.
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability adhere to all standards, policy, and laws governing the Las Palmas Medical Center.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)-minimal
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language proficiently
• One-year experience in direct patient care or equivalent in HBO setting.
• One-year experience as EMT, DMT, CRT, or CNA

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• High School Graduate / GED
