Job Description SummaryThe Services Project Manager will prepare proposals and execute hydro service projects in the western part of United States. Hydro Service projects that fall under the Services Project Manager purview include, but are not limited to, hydro turbine and generator maintenance and repairs, spare parts, technical assistance, condition assessment, and training. Additional scope may include hydro turbine DCS, controls and governors, valves, auxiliaries, and other balance of plant.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, the Services Project Manager will :

  • Interact with clients at the site and in the office to troubleshoot customer issues, provide timely and effective technical solutions, and position GE for success
  • Successfully manage Hydro Service projects, while driving quality, cost, and schedule strategies in compliance with GE guidelines
  • Build strong relationships between the customer and GE through demonstrated successes in the execution of Projects and technical positioning
  • In collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager and Regional Service Director, provide business development support in line with Services strategy
  • Develop Services commercial and technical offerings with the support of the regional team
  • Environmental, Health and Safety excellence
  • Deliver projects on time as per financial commitments
  • Voice of Customer

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in Engineering / Procurement / Construction contracts

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and systems (mechanical/Electrical/Hydraulic)
  • Knowledge of the Hydro customers in the area is valued
  • Project Management Professional certification is desirable
  • Experience with rotating machinery or hydro equipment will be valued
  • Service mindset and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Problem solver with excellent business acumen
  • Leadership capabilities to drive the team towards successful results
  • Able to travel to meet clients and visit Hydro Power Plants (30% of the time)
  • Experience with planning and scheduling

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 (USD).The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
