    The Role…

    Under the direction of the People Operations Manager, the People Specialist will be the first layer of Human Resource support for PNC and Dymatize. The People Team Specialist will be responsible for performing duties focused in the areas of recruiting, payroll, employee experience and benefits.

    Note: This position is currently remote-based due to the pandemic, but the person selected will need to be based within commuting distance of our Emeryville/Berkeley/Oakland border-based office when it reopens. We expect this position will have a combination of in-office and work from anywhere days each week once the office reopens. We expect that may happen mid-2021.

    Recruitment Coordination / On-boarding: 25% of Time

  • Pre/Post interview coordination with candidate
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with the hiring teams and create interview packets
  • Follow up on the interview process status with candidates
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Applicant Tracking System
  • Send all new hire documents to candidate and administer associated processes
  • Own New hire onboarding program: design, plan, coordinate, and conduct new employee orientation including but not limited to form completion, file creation and maintenance, employee welcome and benefits explanation.
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification system; periodically audits Forms I-9.
  • Coordinate travel and lodging between the candidate and travel agent
  • Coordinate lunch orders for candidates and interviewers as needed
  • Track and maintain temporary employee recruiting support
  • Support employee experience and onboarding process in partnership with Talent Acquisition Specialist
  • Payroll: 30% of Time

  • Manage and ensure the timely processing and accuracy of full the semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll process through final sign off and approval
  • Collects and audits payroll files ensuring data accuracy and compliance for all non-exempt and exempt employees
  • Proactive communication and oversight of non-exempt payroll approvals, including sign offs with managers and employees
  • Pull and audit PTO report for exempt employees for processing
  • Responsible for timely manual checks/pay cards processing for terminations
  • LOA payroll ownership to ensure accuracy in pay for employee
  • HR Systems / Data Management: 25% of Time

  • Maintain and control all personnel recordkeeping activities (manual and electronic)
  • Input personnel information changes to HRIS System (new hires, promotions, change of managers, etc.) in a timely manner with keen attention to detail
  • Process federal/state paperwork/requests (e.g., Labor Department, EDD, etc.) and employment verifications
  • Notify appropriate teams (Post Credit Card team and Post Travel team) of personnel changes (new supervisors, terminations)
  • Update, manage and publish Organization charts on a regular basis with accuracy
  • Provide reporting to managers and People team to support our retention, diversity and employee experience
  • Own administration of employee surveys to support 360 assessments, team temperature, new hire onboarding and exit interviews: may support with initial analytic support to People team on trends
  • Employee Programs / Benefits: 15% of Time

  • Act as primary informational resource/point of contact for employee benefits, including but not limited to PTO(paid time off), bereavement leave, tuition reimbursement, payroll, and policy interpretation
  • Distribute company-wide benefit communications (i.e. annual enrollment, Summer hours, EAT Club, holiday calendars, etc.)
  • Manage new hire welcome programs both virtually and in-person (welcome boxes, interview bags, on-boarding)
  • Coordinate People team-related functions, meetings, and events
  • Support and manage training calendar, including departments in Lunch and Learn programs
  • What are we looking for?

    Experience:

  • Relevant professional experience in HR or adjacent field
  • Experience in data entry and using Microsoft excel with proficiency
  • Skills:

  • Detail orientation- exhibited experience in handling time sensitive information with urgency and accuracy
  • Strong organization skills required
  • Drive and Own results- capable of pushing tasks through to completion with minimal supervision. Take ownership of programs and projects and seek initiative for improvement
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Adaptability is a must, comfortable with pivoting quickly and adjusting priorities as needed, to take on additional/new responsibilities.
