Human Resources Specialist 3 This position may be eligible to work a hybrid telework schedule with a mix of at home and in facility work days to be determined at time of hire. Job Summary This position will assist the Regional HR Director in administering the human resources responsibilities for the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) – Shakopee. Job responsibilities include: Advise facility managers and supervisors in the implementation and administration of collective bargaining agreements/plans so that management rights are protected and labor relations are effective. Advise managers and supervisors regarding investigative inquiry procedures and processes. Provide professional guidance and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding complicated worker's compensation claims, return to work and light duty programs as well as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests and other leave programs including requests for paid and unpaid leaves of absence. Ensure compliance with state statutes, federal law and employment related practices. Represent the Regional HR Director in his/her absence and provide direction on day-to-day operations of the Human Resource Office at the facility, as needed. Complete special assignments and perform other duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Additional Requirements The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records. New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
