We are building our team and looking for a dynamic Human Resources Manager for our new manufacturing plant in West Chester, OH who will help us create the best plant-based protein company in the world.
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) reports to the Plant Manager and is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and performance of the HR team for Planterra’s new manufacturing facility in West Chester, OH which is scheduled to start production in April 2021. The HR Manager will join us in early 2021, and will play a key role in the success of the facility by recruiting a great team, creating a positive relationship with the team and ensuring talent resources continually meet manufacturing needs.
Responsibilities
- Drive and manage proactive recruiting efforts
- Develop and implement staffing plans in alignment with business needs
- Develop recruiting avenues with local sources
- Identify, negotiate with and evaluate staffing agency partners as needed
- Propose, publish and administer policies and procedures
- Create, facilitate and oversee training such as New Hire Orientation, Safety Training and Management Training
- Develop and administer HR plans and procedures
- Ensure team members understand company policies
- Complete investigations as needed
- Enter and maintain information in the HRIS database (SAP)
- Administer company and governmental programs
- Ensure regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc. Stay current on recent federal, Ohio state and case law and monitor labor law updates for changes that affect HR
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with file documentation and HRIS records in SAP
- Administer programs such as benefits, unemployment, I-9 compliance etc
- Respond to any questions and/or requests by governmental agencies, including employee complaints, function as company representative at hearings
- HR support to management team
- Offer advice and counsel on personnel issues
- Provide key reports, recommend new approaches, policy changes and continuous improvements
- Implement and champion programs to improve employee relations and culture
- Develop and organize communication tools, activities and events for team members
- Implement recognition and reward programs that increase retention
- Manage disciplinary action, exit and termination process
- Implement innovative HR solutions and process improvement
- Supervise HR team of 2-5
- Work Environment – office setting in an active manufacturing environment
Requirements:
- 5+ years previous HR experience in a manufacturing environment, including HR supervisor/manager experience required
- Bachelors degree preferred, degree may be substituted for equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience complying with and administering HR programs such as ADA, FMLA, EEOC, unemployment
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel)
- Data entry and reporting experience with an HR system, SAP strongly preferred
- This role will primarily work Monday-Friday, but candidates must have the ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Proven conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of HR best practices, experience implementing training programs
- State (Ohio)/local (Cincinnati) labor law
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
- PHR/SPHR preferred
