JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily administrative Human Capital functions of Recruiting, Learning & Development, Leave Management and other workflows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs. May perform additional tasks as required.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate creation, coordination, and communication of all status change and tracking processes/paperwork for new hires, transfers, promotions, employee changes, terminations, etc. Coordinates with Payroll and IT to ensure payroll systems and active directory are current. Facilitates new hire orientation.
- Performs recruiting functions including developing job descriptions, job postings, interviewing and job offers. Applicant Tracking System (ATS) administration. Ensures all new hire paperwork is created, collected and delivered timely. Serves as primary liaison with external recruiting vendors. Assists with College Recruiting Program.
- Assists in administering leave of absence for employees, including tracking instances, communicating leave information timely to employees, and obtaining leave approvals.
- Assists in supporting the Learning & Development functions. Reviews, tracks and documents compliance with training and continuous learning. Coordinates internal course delivery and facilitates new hire orientation.
- Assists in employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations; maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
