Human Resources Assistant

Basic Function
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all Human Resources Department activities at Indiana Beach Resort with an emphasis on recruiting, training, and retaining a high performing team of seasonal and full-time employees.
Specific Responsibilities
- Works closely with department heads to ensure that adequate staffing levels are being maintained and that department training programs are consistent with park and company culture.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Maintains staffing levels by recruiting, testing, and interviewing candidates and counseling managers on candidate selection.
- Manages the staffing process by posting available positions, screening, and interviewing applicants, notifying existing staff of internal opportunities.
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs; gathering withholding and other payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs. Distributing employee uniforms and parking passes.
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Maintains human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases.
- Documents human resource actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Increases job knowledge by shadowing department managers, and assuming Manager on Duty shifts.
- Development and implementation of Internship and Leadership Training programs
- Development and implementation of Employee Retention programs
- Maintains employee confidence and protects property by keeping human resource information confidential.
- Implement and oversee J-1 International Employee program, including events, coordinate housing and other duties as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English and understand operations manuals.
- Must be comfortable communicating with all demographics of Guests and employees, including those with concerns, comments and complaints.
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to efficiently manage time and work without direct supervision.
