The City of Valdosta is accepting applications for the position of Human Resources Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating the overall LOA programs including FMLA, worker’s compensation, RTW, and work with departments on the work status updates. This position is responsible for quickly resolving employee questions, inquiries, and complaints or direct them to the appropriate parties; performing regular file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained; ensuring compliance with the federal, state, and local labor laws in all states where applicable; staying up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation and laws; assist the HR team with training and development programs; work closely with the Rick Management Director on risk management; assisting with tracking and recording all safety violations and infractions including all other incident/accident reports for the site facility; assisting the HR team with planning citywide company functions and events; providing training tools to managers/supervisors needed; ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organizations; assisting with the HR department with processing verification of employment; and maintain discretion and confidentiality in all matters

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, city and departmental policies and procedures, employment testing and hiring practices, federal and state employment laws, computers and job-related software programs.
  • Skill in prioritizing and organizing work, use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
  • Skill in oral and written communication and the provision of customer services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of work-related experience.
  • Must have exemplary communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must satisfactorily complete the required background check, physical and drug test.
