Steps 1-4 are hourly. JOB DEFINITION - HOUSING CASE MANAGER:The Clinical Support Specialist (Housing Case Manager) works with the Project Manager, case managers and other providers to provide and coordinate clinical services for residents at one of our 14 permanent supportive housing locations. DESC Permanent Supportive Housing provides apartments for formerly homeless adults living with severe disabilities. We are firmly committed to the belief that the solution to homelessness is simple: housing. We offer housing to people before anything else, without insisting on abstinence or treatment compliance. This means we are able to end homelessness for the most vulnerable men and women in our community, not just those most able to navigate the system. Our approach has been recognized as a model for other communities and garnered significant academic study and praise. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to obtain an Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) license in WA soon after hire.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of behavior.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and insurable driving record (preferred).
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related behavioral science, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field and 1 year of paid work experience in social services, or
  • Relevant associates degree and 1 year of relevant paid work experience, or
  • Any Associates degree and 1 year of highly relevant paid work experience, or
  • A combination of 1 year of highly relevant paid work experience and formal training in clinical and case management skills to demonstrate an ability to successfully perform the job.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two years’ experience working with homeless adults disabled by chronic alcoholism, mental illness and/or drug use.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and insurable driving record.
