We are looking for a Hotel Manager to oversee and manage our 18 room property with a wide range of responsibilities (Managing Revenue, Front Desk, Guest Reviews, Managing Staff, Hiring, Rate Management, and more) in Santa Cruz.
Responsibilities include operating and managing hotel staff, driving sales, ensuring outstanding guest service and associate satisfaction as well as bottom-line results. This position is also responsible for 40 hours per week minimum front desk duties. Candidate must be eager to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
General Duties
- Greet and register guests, make reservations, and settle guests accounts upon completion of stay.
- Process reservations requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone and/or electronically.
- Respond to guest special requests, needs, problems, issues and concerns. Develop best effective solutions for each situation.
- Provide excellent customer service by being readily available and reachable for all guests as required.
- Take proactive approaches when dealing with guests concerns.
- Responsible for posting help wanted ads, conducting interviews, hiring, disciplinary action and terminating staff when necessary.
- Ensure staff is trained and in compliance with all process and procedures and safety regulations.
- Manage all staff on property including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance
- Control Front Desk Inventory & Rate Management.
- Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly finance and accounting.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory of and ordering any supplies needed for property operation
- Accommodate groups to ensure optimal levels guest satisfaction and repeat business.
- Assist in administration of time clock system and manage staff schedule.
- Documents and submits work orders to report items that need to be repaired and follow ups with Maintenance accordingly.
- Oversee and manage all other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as Supervisor or Front desk manager in the hospitality industry of other customer-service related field and/or High school degree is required; B.A degree or A.A degree is preferred
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed and goal oriented
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and anticipate guest needs
- Must possess strong communication and personal skills
- Must be flexible and willing to work evenings & weekends or any other time that staffing may be needed.
- Ability to act independently with minimal supervision
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Must possess computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
