Greets customers in a genuine manner. Conducts restaurant tours, offers seating options, and suggests appetizers and beverages. Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets customers in a genuine manner, asks if it is a customer's first visit and conducts restaurant tours. Offers customers their choice of table, presents menus, and introduces appetizers and beverages
- Notifies the manager of all first time customers
- Sets up tables for large parties and provides any needed highchairs, boosters, or slings
- Maintains an accurate wait list and provides quote times to customers
- Maintains a clean and welcoming environment including a clean floor, windows, host stand, and menus
- Notifies manager in the event of any issues or displeased customers
- Performs opening and closing duties such as cleaning tasks in the host stand and surrounding area
- Assists in delivering food and beverages to customers
- Assists in cleaning and sanitizing tables
- Sweeps dining room periodically
- Maintains a safe working environment and reports any safety issues to management immediately
- Polish silverware and bowls
- Follows all sanitation and safety policies
- Follows company cash handling policies and procedures
- Maintains valid state and local food handlers and alcohol certifications as applicable
- Demonstrates team work at every opportunity
- Advises Restaurant Manager/General Manager/Regional Director of any non-routine situations
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Must have excellent verbal and customer service skills
- Must be customer centric, demonstrating a desire to be of service
- Must be able to multi task while maintaining required standards of operations
- Must be able to address customer concerns in a manner that builds customer relations
- Must be respectful of all customers, managers, team members, and vendors
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 lb.
- Must be capable of constant walking, standing, stooping, and reaching in all directions
- Must have manual dexterity
- Must be available to work a variety of opens, swings, and closes including weekends and holidays
