Hospital/Provider Contract Analyst Details

NaphCare has an excellent opportunity for a Hospital/Provider Contract Analyst to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL supporting our Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) division. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Contract Management, the Hospital/Provider Contract Analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining hospital and physician networks, which includes negotiating reimbursement rates, market research for healthcare services across the country, cold calling and contract language review. They develop strong relationships with executive teams of our network hospitals and the providers affiliated with our network hospitals in order to achieve network growth and cost targets.

  • This is not a remote position. This position reports to the Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL, Monday through Friday, normal business hours.

Position Expectations:

  • Negotiates, administers, and executes hospital and physician contracts in accordance with company standards in order to maintain and enhance networks to ensure we meet and exceed quality and financial goals.
  • Participates in bid proposals, which includes community health care research and fiscal analysis.
  • Responsible for contracting and operational issues for the life of the contract.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment and exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, negotiating, and interpersonal skills; be customer-service oriented; have the ability to problem solve; be well-organized and work and perform independently with hospital executives in all negotiations.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in health care administration or business administration preferred.
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in contract negotiation and provider contract language required.
  • Understanding of Medicare Parts A and B reimbursement required.
  • Ability to interact positively with outside clients, coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15%.
