Coastal Villages Region Fund is currently seeking applications for a Community Service Representative in Hooper Bay, Alaska. The primary job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, providing support and backup for the Community Service Manager in the areas of generating awareness of CVRF programs and services, developing and maintaining community network programs, responding to requests from community members, providing administrative support for accounting and filing functions, assisting Anchorage in recruitment efforts, and assisting in marine safety awareness programs. SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE This position reports directly to the Community Service Manager assigned to that location, with overall supervision by the Communications & Community Benefits Manager. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Previous education or work experience in a relevant field is desired. Must possess the ability to represent the company in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing. Must have basic computer skills, including some knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs. Previous customer service experience is desired. Successful applicants will have the ability to learn and teach others, and work well in a team environment. A high regard for accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to successfully perform the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to effectively remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, communicate with others in person and over the phone, and move about inside the office. This position requires the ability to sit, effectively use hands and fingers, talk and listen, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Occasionally this position may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is also a requirement.
This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel to other rural communities, Anchorage, and other states may be required via aircraft of varying sizes. Some travel may require staying overnight.
