Home Infusion Nurse Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Home Infusion Nurse Manager will be responsible for the administration of Nursing Services. Directs, plans, and coordinates the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and auxiliary nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care. Provides direct patient care.

- Selects, trains, develops, and motivates a highly skilled professional and allied staff.
- Assures that departmental staff complete orientation, maintain clinical competence, participate in continuing education, receive counseling, and are evaluated on time.
- Oversees the receipt, evaluation, acceptance, and execution of the initial patient intake process to assure that patient verification, assessment, teaching, and the ongoing scheduling of nursing services occur in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assures that all patient-related documentation and clinical and departmental reports are accurately completed, submitted, and/or filed on time, according to internal and external regulatory requirements, and in support of the billing process.
- Participates in planning, decision-making, and implementation of all service center activities that affect clinical nursing services and the performance of the multidisciplinary team.
- Assists in the management of a department budget using a modified primary nursing model and assures that other department functions proceed without interruption.
- Secures and maintains all applicable internal, professional, local, state, federal and voluntary licenses, certifications, accreditations, and employment requirements as required of staff and department.
- Works closely with the VP of Nursing and AVPs to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate clinical and administrative policies, procedures, programs, and systems.
- Assures own professional growth and clinical competence.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Reports to the appropriate management any known or suspected violations of policies, procedures, regulations, or standards of conduct.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN, MSN preferred
- Current RN Licensure by the applicable state’s board of Nursing, in good standing
- Minimum 5 years Nursing practice in a related specialty such as home infusion and or specialty infusion, home health, oncology, nutrition support, IV therapy, or critical care
- Minimum 5 years Pediatric Nursing experience ideal
- Clinical expertise in IV therapies with monitoring, skill, and knowledge of all types of IV lines
- Minimum 2 years management experience, proven ability to manage, train and educate staff on new protocols and existing standard operating procedures
- Ability to work with all levels of employees in a fast-paced clinical environment and manage multiple complex projects
- Knowledge of vascular access devices and infusion therapies
- Knowledge of State licensed, non-certified, home health agency regulations
- Ability to directly supervise and manage staff for a licensed home health agency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office
- CRNI certification a plus
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
