Job Summary: Provide sound clinical assessments and certification assistance to Kinship Foster Parent applicants. Ability to provide safe and nurturing homes for children in foster care. Support and monitor the certification process from initial inquiry through certification. Essential Generic Job Functions: Screen potential foster parent applicants Conduct home visits to assess viability of potential foster homes Maintain weekly contact with all foster parent applicants Provide Foster parent training including MAPP training and all other foster parent training. Prepare comprehensive Home Study reports Facilitate weekly Foster Parent Support Groups in Brooklyn and Bronx offices Conduct Foster Parent Home Study interviews and prepare comprehensive reports Re-certification home visits Planning and implementing community events designed to attract foster parents Provide support and education for Foster Parents through initial and on-going Foster Parent training and neighborhood based support groups. Develop and implement creative approaches toward the recruitment and retention of Foster Parents. Generate enthusiasm within the agency and community around foster parent recruitment Contacts: Engage with clients to establish a professional relationship. Knowledge, Education and Skills Required: BSW or related degree 2 Years Human Services, marketing or business experience a plus. High energy and enthusiasm Bi-lingual Spanish Professional appearance and demeanor Public speaking ability Solid organizational skills Ability to work evenings and weekend Comfortable in Brooklyn and Bronx communities.
