The Histo Prep Tech works in the Histopathology laboratory and grosses medical biopsy specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. Will assist in preparing various staining solutions. Operates automated slide/cassette etchers, automated stainers, automated coverslipper and perform paraffin embedding. Performs HistoWeb functions; preventive maintenance; QC functions to detect errors; uses safe infection control procedures, filing of blocks and slides.

Full-time, Day Shift

10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Weekend Work Required

Work Location: Weinberg 2242, 401 N. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231

Education:

Requires a minimum of High school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of courses in biology, chemistry and math.

Work Experience:

A minimum 3 months in a laboratory or related medical environment or training/education program is required. Surgical Pathology experience preferred.
