Salary $12.01 - $20.90 Hourly $24,980 - $43,465 Annually This position is a Pay Band 50 Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. This position will operate medium to heavy duty equipment in a safe and efficient manner to repair and maintain interstate, roads, roadways, highways, bridges and structures, and erosion repairs throughout District One for the safety of the traveling public. By operating medium to heavy duty equipment. Utilize hand and power tools. Perform operator level maintenance on equipment and tools. The traveling public and pedestrians. High School Diploma or Equivalent and six (6) months of experience maintaining roads and operating medium to heavy-duty equipment to include loader, five and ten yard dump truck, self -propelled broom, roller, and/or mower. Employment requires successful completion of a post-offer physical and pre-employment drug test; employment is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License, and must have or obtain a New Mexico Class B Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of hire. Tanker Endorsement may be required. Business reference check and Driver's License verification are also required and employment is conditional pending results. Must successfully pass demonstrated abilities test with a 75% or better. Work is performed primarily in the field in varying weather conditions - hot or cold, humidity, wind, rain and snow, exposure to sunlight, dust, pollen, chemicals, exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles, rough/rugged terrain, noxious plants and infected trash, exposure to hazardous chemicals, insects and reptiles, loud noises, confined spaces, stressful situations, subject to falls and bruises, considerable physical strain, high speed/high volume traffic, interaction with the public, local county, school and city officials by phone an in person, irregular hours day or night, subject to call out for emergencies, heavy lifting, sitting/standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling for extended periods of time may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent temporary assignments that require travel and extended overnight stays; extended or irregular hours day or night; and call-out away from post of duty to include night time work and snow removal as applicable are required. Statutory Requirement:
