Salem Academy Charter School (SACS) is a nationally ranked urban charter school north of Boston offering a rigorous college preparatory program to 480 students in grades 6-12. Successful candidates will be experienced professionals with proven skills in instructional leadership, curriculum development, problem-solving, managing people, and data-driven decision making. S/he will be a self-starter who is able to build effective teams through strong organizational and communication skills. Candidates will have experience developing a classroom culture that is positive, respectful, and inclusive of all students. Candidates should have experience in social-emotional learning, cultural proficiency, and service learning.

Salem Academy seeks a high school Spanish teacher for our Spanish Heritage & Spanish II classes. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to reaching all students, raising achievement through a rigorous and relevant curriculum, and supporting a school culture of excellence and joyful learning.This teacher will be joining collaborative curriculum and grade-level teams focused on ongoing instructional improvement and student support. Teachers at Salem Academy are responsible for, and involved with: * Aligning curricular standards with state guidelines* Monitoring student progress through standards-based assessments* Analyzing student data* Differentiating instruction* Teaching 4 Spanish classes per day (with 2 periods reserved for preparation and collaboration)* Supporting students service-learning work* Communicating regularly with families about academic and social issues, including attending conferences with parents* Building and maintaining strong school culture centered on achievement* Implementing common academic and behavioral procedures to ensure a structured, respectful, and achievement-oriented school* Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school mission* Participating in weekly professional development sessions with colleagues* Participating in weekly Form Meetings (e.g., grade-level teams) Salem Academy Charter School is an equal opportunity employer.
