HFY Personal Care Aide
Position Summary
Provides companionship and monitoring of the client.
Essential Duties

- Addresses family and client concerns to promote satisfaction and good communication.
- Follows the instructions of the Here for You supervisor.
- Engages client and provides companionship.
- Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client's home or any significant observations regarding the client.
- Attend staff meetings and participates in orientation of new associates.
- Report client complaints to the Here for You Supervisor or designee.
- Possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Report abnormal findings in client's conditions to the Here for You Supervisor or designee.
- Have knowledge of the Here for You policies and procedures.
- Provide protective oversight, prevent wandering, and standby assistance.
- Proper use of redirection techniques.
- Provide assistance with hygiene such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.
- Perform and record accurate measurements (i.e. vital signs, or intake/output as instructed in the care plans).
- Provide accompaniment during outings, such as doctor visits, shopping, banking, errands.
- Encourage the client to exercise and provide standby assistance.
- Prepare nutritious meals.
- Sit with client in order to allow for caregiver respite.
- Provide Housekeeping to include at least the following:
- Wash Dishes
- Vacuum
- Laundry
- Empty Trash
- Change Linen
- Make Bed
- Mopping
- Is fully knowledgeable of the fire evacuation and disaster policy of the community and participates as assigned in fire and disaster drills.
- Demonstrates an understanding of compliance and ethics program policies and procedures.
- Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.
- Maintains appropriate degree of confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned and which relate to the success of the Here for You program.
Qualifications
- Education: High School or GED preferred
- Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certificate required.
