Overview As an Excavator you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of activities such as excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, fine grading, and final cleanup. To be effective an Excavator follows company procedures and guidelines to perform job functions. Uses discretion to resolve unforeseen problems related to excavating and installation.

Notify supervisor of any issues that might impact safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, as well as any other established goals and standards.
Responsibilities

• Excavate to dimensions as specified by construction drawings, sketches, grade markers, and/or verbal instructions ensuring that equipment is properly fueled and is capable of performing the assigned task (weight capacity, etc.)
• Operate an excavator in the presence of utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property and utilities in the area
• Ensure that Company and Government safety and regulatory standards associated with the operation of heavy equipment are met at all times
• Perform routine inspections on equipment and report all conditions requiring attention for continued safe operation and proper equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3+ years of excavator operating experience
• Clean driving record with a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT, preferred
• Ability to lift and pull equipment that weighs 50 to 75 lbs.
• Good understanding of excavating and propane distribution systems
