6776 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 POSITION DUTIESThe primary purpose of this position is to conduct parole grant hearings for eligible inmates in the Maryland Division of Correction and county detention facilities, in accordance with Correctional Services Article 7-301. Also, incumbents conduct preliminary parole revocation hearings on inmates returned to the Division of Correction for Violation of parole/mandatory release supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with courses in one or more of the following: law, sociology, psychology, education, social work, or criminology.
Experience: Three years experience in a criminal justice related activity involving counseling, supervision, assessment, or investigation of inmates or ex-offenders.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Social Science, Psychology and Welfare Group classifications or Social Science, Psychology and Welfare Group specialty codes, or Legal and Kindred group classifications or Legal and Kindred group specialty codes on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. Experience with Offenders Case Management System (OCMS)
Experience with National Crime Information System (NCIC)
