Overview: Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-time, Health Promotion Specialist to work within our Workforce Well-being department. Monday-Friday 8-4pm with ability to flex occasional weekend and evening hours as needed.

As a member of the Workforce Well-being team, apply your passion for wellness and expertise in evidence-based population health programs to design and implement health support, coaching, resources, and cultural initiatives programs to support health and wellness among AHS team members and their families. Enhance our culture of well-being to drive a healthy, engaged workforce.Responsibilities:

  • Strategize, design, implement, oversee, and evaluate individual and population-based health promotion strategies to improve lifestyle choices, support a healthy environment, and improve health outcomes.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement wellness-related programs that promote participation, engagement, and well-being among team members, driven by application of data and based in best practices.
  • Lead coaching strategies, and effectively coach for behavior change.
  • Develop rapport and engage team members and families in behavior change process by applying coaching techniques, utilizing best practices, and designing and/or modifying approaches as needed.
  • Counsel and refer employees to the right resources to promote coordinated, preventive care and healthy lifestyles.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on strategies to promote health and well-being.
  • Conduct needs assessments to further determine prevention and education program needs, and provide overviews, updates, and statistics of programs at regular intervals.
  • Ability to understand and report on data metrics and value of investment.
  • Design environmental and cultural initiatives to promote a healing culture and an environment supportive of healthy behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively to implement projects and strategies to actively promote well-being.
  • Contribute to, promote, and implement and outreach for all team member wellness initiatives.
  • Work effectively autonomously and as a team. Exhibit PRIDE values in interactions with co-workers and employees served.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Education:
  • M.A./M.S./MPH/M. Ed in Health Education, Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health, or related health professional area required
Certifications:
  • Certification or relevant experience as a health and wellness coach strongly preferred.
  • CHES or RD status preferred.
  • Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) preferred, or willingness to become certified.
Relevant Experience
  • Ideal candidate has successful experience with health promotion programs, program design and evaluation, population health, and health and wellness coaching.
  • Ability to communicate and convey health and wellness information and coaching in an engaging, dynamic manner and easily develop relationships and rapport.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, comfortable speaking and presenting to both individuals and groups of various levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, computer skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively outreach, engage, and motivate others to inspire well-being.
  • Experience with using technology to promote engagement a plus. Ability to create engaging communication materials a plus.
  • This position will be based in Morristown but requires travel to all Atlantic Health System sites.
Physical Requirements
  • As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS.
  • Ability to carry necessary items to program events.
  • Ability to move between sites and execute events in various settings.
