Viasat seeks a Head of National Sales for the Viasat U.S. Broadband business. As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for driving profitable orders and activations of residential and business customers with our partners throughout the United States. This senior leadership role will have full responsibility for distribution, commissions, compensation, incentives, operations, and sales. You will lead a geographically diverse sales team of 30+ employees team to grow sales exponentially with the launch of our ViaSat 3 satellite constellation in 2022.
Job Responsibilities:- Develop and implement an overall sales strategy, supported by growth and revenue metrics within the United States.
- Lead business development efforts and continued growth in the U.S. market to achieve long-term business objectives.
- Develop a sales network through the acquisition of new and strengthened relationships and direct the business development and distribution strategy.
- Manage all phases of the business development cycle to successfully close new partnerships.
- Review and report on opportunities and outline financial impact.
- Develop and continuously assess a strategy and sales plan to establish new client relationships and drive subscriber and revenue growth.
- Develop sales targets, budgets, incentives, contests and promotional programs in accordance with the business plan established by the leadership team.
- Lead a sales operations team, responsible for existing partner management, new partner onboarding and project managing the launch of new sales enablement platforms.
- Interface professionally with all levels of an organization, both internally and with customers and partners.
- Prepare and conduct sales meetings which effectively deliver information, recognize achievements and provide direction and education in a motivational environment.
- Be an accessible and visible leader to the organization, building on a performance led positive culture, developing leaders and, as necessary, recruit outstanding talent to the company’s sales team.
Requirements:- 15+ years of experience in a sales leadership role in the telecommunications or consumer technology industries.
- Track record of successfully building/scaling a nationwide sales organization.
- Highly developed leadership skills with experience leading teams encompassing multiple functions.
- Proven ability to utilize commissions, compensation, incentives and promotions to drive proper behaviors with external partners and internal employees
- Must have telecom/tech/consumer electronic market segment relationships and sales success, with a current rolodex.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing or related field.
Preferences:- Master’s Degree in Sales & Marketing or related field.
Performance measurement criteria include:- Overall sales volume and revenue - delivering the budget
- Cost per indirect sale
- Operational targets for quality and loyalty of new customers
- Employee and partner satisfaction
