Hunter College- Head Women’s and Men’s Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Coach (Part-time) Description: The Head Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective and competitive NCAA Division III Men's and women’s Cross Country (fall) Indoor Track and Field (winter) and Outdoor Track and Field (Spring) program. This Head Coach is expected to teach and demonstrate the ability to promote the growth of student-athlete's physical, intellectual and social behaviors. The Head Coach is responsible for directing all aspects of their assigned sport program. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. Responsibilities: · Organize and conduct all practices and game preparations · Manage all phases of the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field program including coaching, recruiting, assistant coach oversight, and practice planning and execution · Adhere to all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, CUNYAC (City University of New York Athletic Conference), ECAC, Hunter College and Hunter College Athletics policies and procedures · Oversee and evaluate assistant coaches · Serve as teacher, administrator, and role model so that student athletes will improve upon their physical, intellectual, and social behaviors Maximize the physical talent of the team through quality teaching/coaching of appropriate skills and strategies needed to be successful in that sport, and the promotion of teamwork · Assist with uniform and equipment inventory, maintenance and purchasing · Manage all aspects of the team travel, including but not limited to driving a 15 passenger van · Recruit locally, regionally and nationally to retain high quality student athletes who are a fit for Hunter College Academically, Athletically, Socially and Financially · Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education and Experience: · Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred · Previous progressive experience in coaching required College level coaching and recruiting experience is highly desirable · Certification in first aid, CPR · Must have valid US Driver’s license · Ability to recruit quality and retain quality student athletes · Ability to function effectively as a team member · Positive attitude about the university and its intercollegiate programs will be essential · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Possess the ability to serve as a positive role model to student athletes Please send a resume, Cover Letter and 3 references Potential Start date 8/1/2022, salary is commensurate with experience, there are no benefits with this position Job Type: Part-time Pay: $10,000.00 - $15,000.00 per year Schedule: Ability to commute/relocate: Education: Work Location: One location
