Overview:
Deerfield High School seeks a candidate that will successfully implement, on behalf of students, the school’s institutional and departmental missions. Key components of the position include: supervising, advising, and supporting assistant coaches; training Deerfield student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary to meet the program goals; implementing IHSA and Central Suburban League policies and regulations; and promoting swimming within and outside the school community.

Qualifications:
  • Previous coaching experience at the competitive level preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills; possessing good judgment, resolve, and compassion
  • The ability to represent the school in personal encounters and public settings
  • Excellent organizational and self-direction skills
  • Proficient in cultivating a positive environment
  • Competent in managing individuals/groups
  • Skilled at problem resolution
  • The ability to develop assistant coach(es)
  • Working knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations
  • Licensed educator or American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Certification
  • CPR/AED and First Aid training preferred
