Job Summary:

A seasonal, part-time position to assist with coordinating the Club’s 10-week Summer Camp Program. Will work closely with the club management, camp counselors, and camp administrator to prepare, organize, and execute the summer camp programs from June through August. Assists with interviewing and hiring process of camp counselors, as well as beginning and end of season duties.

Job Duties:

1. Exhibits a “Member Friendly and Member First” mentality and actions without excuses.

2. Administrative duties may include calling and enrolling prospective campers, monthly billing, and maintaining an inventory of equipment and program supplies.

3. Assist with beginning and end of season duties.

4. Responsible for scheduling and confirmation follow-up of guest instructors for camp programs.

  • Run daily camper's check in/check out process.
  • Manage daily schedule of campers and stay engaged with campers during camp.

7. Ensures a positive and engaging experience for all campers.

8. Help prepare, inventory, and maintain program resources.

9. Help plan/ review weekly schedule with staff.

10. Work and stay with campers, as needed.

11. Plan and lead weekly camper orientation.

12. Work with counselors throughout summer with programming.

13. Assist with staff training.

14. Set programmatic goals with staff.

15. Help clean camp at the start and close of each session.

16. Willingness to be flexible and help where needed in the Camp.

17. Provide daily support/ back up for summer counselors.

18. Ability to assist campers and other staff in emergency situations.

19. Strength and endurance to maintain supervision of campers.

20. Ability to observe camper behavior and assess its appropriateness and apply appropriate behavioral management techniques.

21. Ability to enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures.

22. Supports his/her staff in providing quality programs and services to our members as well as incorporating an atmosphere where we are constantly striving to exceed one’s expectations.

23. Responds to all member and staff concerns in a timely and effective manner, returning all member phone calls within 24 hours. Be available before and after camp sessions to speak with parents to answer any questions regarding camp programming.

24. Ability to communicate effectively with, campers, parents, other staff, and visitors.

25. Performs other duties as reasonably assigned by other management team members or the General Manager.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications or equivalents are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

Education & Training:

· Bachelor’s Degree in childhood development and education, preferred.

· Two or more years of summer camp experience, preferred.

· Experienced in planning and implementing creative summer programming.

· Familiarity with swim and water safety procedures.

· Current valid CPR and First Aid Certification required.

Work Experience:

· Two – five years childhood education experience preferred.

· Camp program administration experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Extremely energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.

· Ability to design and implement creative summer programs.

· Strong leadership and organizational skills.

· Excellent written, verbal communication, and promotional skills.

· Highly organized in regard to scheduling, organizing educational materials, and addressing staffing needs.

· Self-starter and proactive in carrying out programs and incentives.

· A positive role model for children and adults alike.

· Strongly, self-motivated with a positive attitude.

· Enjoys involvement in water sports.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15,000.00 per year
