Hardware Systems Architect
Dish Technologies, in Englewood CO, has an opening for an experienced Hardware Systems Architect who will be part of a team that will architect the next generation of Dish Network products that go into a consumer’s home. It’s an exciting time because Dish will be deploying a 5G network in the next several years that will include 5G, fixed wireless, satellite, and internet products with cutting edge technologies used for whole home audio/video entertainment solutions, internet services, 5G services and other connected devices. **Working location in Englewood, CO is required; relocation assistance available.
Responsibilities include:

  • Part of a team that leads the effort defining and architecting a world class in-home eco-system for Dish Network’s next generation of satellite products and Dish Network’s new 5G and fixed wireless technology.
  • Specifically responsible for architecting in home hardware system solutions for customers to receive the quad play, voice, internet, video, and data.
  • Staying up to date with latest relevant technologies, and standards…and potentially a player in relevant standards as needed as a plus.
  • Puts together and maintains technology and major chip roadmaps applicable to Dish Network’s in home products.
  • Expert in network processors, SOCs, and Wi-Fi chips.
  • Will be responsible for calculating performance numbers, bandwidths and bit rate estimates.
  • Interacts with strategic vendors, customers, stakeholders, and other architects.
  • Domestic and International travel is required.
A successful Hardware Systems Architect will have the following:
  • BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant Technical field with 5+ years of hardware design and technical architect experience.
  • Expert knowledge of audio/video and consumer electronic devices.
  • Expert knowledge of digital and computer systems architecture and design.
  • Experience designing and architecting set-top boxes
  • Good working knowledge of embedded software and network protocols.
  • Ability to do quantitative analysis to specify and determine network performance
  • Ability to block diagram and analyze technical architectural concepts
  • Must be a self-starter and energetic.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Fast learner, research aptitudes/skills
