GENERAL DESCRIPTION:To maintain the highest quality service while providing the ‘Hospitality That Brings the Guest Back’. To follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic high school education or G.E.D.
  • Ability to work well with the public while moving quickly from one task to another using various skills.
  • Must be able to type, have the numerical ability, basic sales technique, use of 10 key machine, basic accounting skills, and cash handling knowledge and computer knowledge, including MS Word and Excel and Internet.
  • Ability to handle cash, checks, and credit cards.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must maintain a tactful, courteous, and cooperative attitude when dealing with guests, managers, and peers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comply with all Monarch Hotel Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform check-in and checkout of Hotel guests.
  • Remain aware of the availability of rooms throughout the shift.
  • Review reservations, assign rooms, and block all special requests, communicating with Housekeeping & Reservations as to specific needs and changes throughout the shift.
  • Frequently update lists for arrivals, departures, and guests currently in-house to maintain a clear knowledge of the status of all guests at all times.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Bell Staff, Housekeeping, and Maintenance regarding guest requests.
  • Complete an inventory of guests for each shift. Verify guests currently shown in-house and be familiar with complete and accurate records available.
  • Correct any discrepancies in room status, such as unexpected stay-overs.
  • Do the best job possible to promote Room Sales.
  • Fulfill the duties of the Hotel Switchboard/Telephone Operator.
  • Act as an information and guest courtesy associate, assisting guest with directions, answering questions and special requests.
  • Keep clear accurate records of all appropriate transactions and communications throughout the shift.
  • Represent the Monarch by giving courteous and prompt service, accurate information and maintain a high-quality image and demeanor with the public.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by Management.
