The Guest Service Coordinator (GSC) is responsible for the Security of the Men's Residential Center (MRC), and interaction with individuals out side Wheeler from the front desk.
Wheeler Mission is a privately funded 501 (c) 3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry whose designated purpose is religious. We are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished. Wheeler Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. 3. He must possess interact professionally with guests, volunteers, and the general public.
4. He must be able to work with other ministry staff members for the purpose of meeting Wheeler Mission program objectives and goals. Specifically regarding building security.
5. Must have a pleasant demeanor and able to interact with many different types of people and personalities.
6. Must be able to address issues of conflict with guests, in a constructive and Biblical manner.
7. Able to relay and enforce program and building polices.
Essential Requirements: *

1. Building Security
a. Verifying program involvement before screening individual for entry into the building.
b. Following security screening process for all program guest before allowing entry into the building.
c. Removing any items or people from building, which are a security risk for the staff or guests of the facility.
d. Verifying volunteers scheduled to assist in building before allowing entry.
2. Maintaining the legal guidelines of Confidentiality regarding all guests within the (MRC).
3. Professionally interacting with individuals outside of Wheeler.
4. Receiving and transferring phone call.
5. Handling donations (physical, food, and cash).
6. Document meals in Wheeler's data base (H.E.A.R.T.).
7. Document and report the events of the day on Shift Report.
8. Assist in supervising events for men within the programs of the MRC.

Work Environment: *
The GSC must be able to carry out the required job duties in a fast-paced Christ Centered environment that is grace-based, trauma informed, and strengths focused.
1. Typical Security Office environment
2. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office suite of products. Must be able to quickly learn new computer programs, such as HEART (client database).
3. Attend staff meetings.
4. Must be comfortable in a homeless shelter environment.
5. Occasionally works outside in varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands: *
To perform the essential job functions of the GSC position, a candidate must be capable of performing many physical functions including:
1. Maintaining Building Security of the MRC from main entry point. (Some sitting at a desk).
2. Retrieving and storing guest belonging (Able to lift 40lbs).
3. Professionally interacting with staff, guests, and the general public.
a. Answering and Transferring phone calls.
b. Receiving donations.
c. Clothing room.
4. Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
Other Duties: *

The GSC must be able to:
1. Will need to daily read, respond, and send emails regrading the daily events within the MRC.
2. Facilitate the giving of clothing during the set Clothing Room times.
3. Enter information into the H.E.A.R.T. database regarding meals, and clothing.
4. Assist with monitoring and supervising the guests within the programs (S.T.E.P.S., Orientation, and A.C.T.S.).
5. Assist Case Managers in serving the men in the programs.
6. Attended all required staff meetings.
7. Organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the GSC office.
Required Education and Experience: *
1. Minimum of a high school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
2. Computer literate with Microsoft Word and Excel and have an aptitude to learn new computer programs (H.E.A.R.T. database).
3. Applicant must have good communication and people skills.

This position requires both a conflict of interest statement and a confidentiality statement.
Supervisory Responsibilities: *
The GSC may be asked to assist in the task supervision of SLTs and volunteers.
Expected Hours of Work: *
The GSC position is staffed 24 hours a day and individual GSC employees are assigned to a shift which may be at any time during a 24-hour period. GSC employees are assigned at the discretion of the Director and may change at any time with or without advance notice. Some scheduling flexibility is permitted at the discretion of the Administrative Supervisor and Director of Services. Occasional extended hours and/or overtime may be required as job duties and guest census demand.
