Opportunity
Avalara is looking for an energetic and highly organized group admin to help our high performing Product Management and Product Experience organization connect, collaborate, and pursue excellence. You will assume a wide range of responsibilities including the planning and execution of training programs and internal events for our 200 person strong team. Responsibilities
- Organize training programs and events for Product team members in US, UK, Brazil and India office locations
- Events include in-person and virtual presentations, trainings and workshops, visioning events, planning meetings, executive briefings, and team building events
- Assist with all aspects of event planning, implementation and execution
Tasks
Create and maintain training and event calendar- Source and coordinate event details with venues, catering and other vendors
- Contribute ideas for running engaging events in person and online
- Manage invites and RSVPs
- Track expenses
- Function as on-site point of contact for logistics and operations
- Run virtual events using Zoom and/or other remote platforms
- Conduct post-event surveys and compile feedback
- Create and maintain documentation for planning and executing successful events
Requirements
- Experience planning and executing events for a business/corporate audience
- Strong planning, project management, and time management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and applications
- Personable and polished, able to successfully work with employees at all levels of the organization including executives
- Flexible, “out of the box” thinker, solution and action oriented w/ proven record of overcoming logistical challenges
- Creative, comes up with new ways of running events that engage team members
- Appreciation of and ability to integrate cultural differences
- Ability to travel to Avalara offices inside and outside the US (up to once/quarter)
