To supplement this transformational journey, the GreenLake Strategy, Planning and Solutions Operations organization is looking for a strong, passionate and seasoned business planning manager to join our business planning team. In this role, you will be key in driving GreenLake's aaS consumption business by looking across multiple data elements including but not limited to market, orders, billings, pipeline, customer consumption, segmentation, revenue, etc to draw insightful conclusions and actionable recommendations and strategies related to customer opportunities, expansion, retention, churn and other key leading and lagging aaS indicators. Your inquisitive, analytical mind and trusted voice will be heard and looked upon by senior management as a subject matter expert to drive business outcomes and propel the overall GreenLake aaS growth.

The GreenLake Business Planning Manager duties include mining, reviewing and analyzing GreenLake business and financial information from all facets of data (eg. pipeline, orders, billings, consumption utilization, Annualized Recurring Revenue (ARR), market trends/growth, workloads, etc.) to derive strategic, actionable recommendations and insights in order to support HPE’s pivot to aaS and GreenLake BU’s overall growth. This person will also prepare comprehensive implementation actions and strategies, including execution plans, follow-up guidelines, recommendations and assessment. as well as ensuring that GreenLake business activities are aligned with stated plans among different stakeholders. They will set, track and daily monitor key GreenLake aaS business metrics, evaluate actuals and make in quarter and long term recommendations to senior business leaders on achievement to orders to plan. Lastly, they will develop data-driven analyses and scenarios to optimize tangible business choices into financial value.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops recommendation from complex data and business analyses and formulates them into actionable business strategies
  • Extract digital insights by stitching together market information (eg. sizing, trends, customer workloads, segmentation, etc) with GreenLake business and financial data to identify root cause analysis shunting growth and customer opportunities
  • Drive business outcomes through partnerships with key GreenLake constituents (Finance, Sales/GTM, Sales & Solutions Ops, Portfolio) to identify and develop innovative, crisp solutions to address root cause elements
  • Enhance business decision making by instituting “what-if” / trade-off scenarios and sensitivity analysis across the portfolio to promote faster data driven conclusions and actions
  • Support the simulation modeling effort to improve overall order linearity that will enable a more quantifiable and predictable attainment to overall financial plan
  • Work closely with the business intelligence & analytics team in mining data & devising adaptive / predictive algorithms to understand forward looking opportunities and trends
  • Drive the construction of highly innovative statistical and financial models to analyze aaS business performance
  • Establishes key aaS metrics required to measure business performance, and recommends the go-forward strategy to address performance gaps
  • Leads highly complex, time-sensitive market research projects and identify compelling trends and opportunities for business leaders
  • Develops and drives comprehensive business planning recommendations, based on analysis, emerging trends, and experience.
  • Identifies or develops cutting- edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions
  • Counsels business leaders, recommends approaches for executing high-level strategies and develops creative solutions

Education and Experience Required:
Typically 10+ years total experience in strategy, business planning, finance, or related functional area. Advanced university degree required (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with consumption or aaS strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in a highly robust financial or business planning data driven environment; aaS consumption experience a plus
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud computing, as-a-service business model, workload, service offerings, and emerging technology
  • Excellent analytical thinker, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills
  • Ability to synthesize and frame data and findings to senior leadership with associated insight and recommendations
  • Excellent understanding of modeling and financial analysis
  • Ability to leverage new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches and insights.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficient in how to analyze business problems using Excel and PowerBI
  • Superior business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility
  • Strong communication, influencing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead multiple, large, time sensitive projects or work streams.
  • Ability to identify emerging trends from market and industry data, and make clear and compelling business planning recommendations
  • Ability to build partnerships across functional areas
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, creatively and think outside the box
