JOB TITLE: Grant Project Director JOB CODE: 32911FLSA: Exempt GRADE: S15
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the development and administration of a grant, including hiring, training, supervising and evaluating project staff, fiscal management, project development and management, and liaison activities to target internal or external constituents. May also provide direct services to grant participants, which may include college and/or high school students, faculty, staff, and/or community members. This is a grant-funded position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the management of the grant, implements or supervises grant personnel, including hiring and training.
- Develops all program activities and may also implement services and activities to meet grant objectives with project staff.
- Administers the grant budget. Prepares continuation budgets and assists in the preparation of competitive program continuation proposals, if applicable/ permissible.
- Develops/coordinates and may implement a marketing plan for the program. Directs recruitment and selection of student/faculty/staff/community participants.
- Maintains liaison with appropriate College administrators and staff regarding grant activities.
- Ensures adherence to federal rules and regulations for grant management. Identifies, designs, plans, and implements improvements to grant implementation and services.
- Supervises development and/or administration of all participant/program assessments to determine achievement of grant program goals and objectives.
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate grant program and participant data to generate monthly/quarterly/annual reports and to evaluate the performance of participants and the attainment of project objectives. Prepares and submits annual and interim progress/performance reports as per federal/grantor requirements. Prepares formative and summative program evaluations.
- Disseminates program results/represents the program at conferences, professional organizational meetings.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
- Two years of experience in grants management and in working with disadvantaged students who are minority and/or from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree.
- Degree in education, counseling, sociology, social work or related field.
- Three years of experience in grants management and in working with disadvantaged students who are minority and/or from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Dependent on grant requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of theories and principles related to college advisement and guidance.
- Knowledge of grant and/or non-profit management practices, including budget management, data processing systems and data gathering, report writing/documentation, records maintenance procedures and federal/state regulations pertaining to grants.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing/presentation software.
- Proficiency with finance/data management/ assessment systems such as Banner or
BLUMEN.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise the work of others and coordinate project responsibilities.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise critical judgment, and analyze information/data.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises assigned staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an office environment with no exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Physical demands are usually limited to sitting or standing in one location much of the time. Some stooping, lifting or carrying lightweight objects may be required.
