Government Contract Specialist
Pro-VIO helps small businesses with emerging technologies access federal government funding. This role is for a government contract specialist.
As a contract specialist, you'll be responsible for building proposal templates and compliance matrixes based on government requirements. You'll also assist with our color team reviews to ensure our proposals are well-written, compliant and responsive.
The ideal candidate will have vast contracting experience, excellent writing skills, an ability to quickly grasp technical concepts, and be familiar with government entities/contracts.
We're a 100% remote team hailing from across the United States. Candidates must be living in the US with authorization to work. Candidates must be available during core work hours between 9-3 CST Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
- Be an expert on government contracting processes. SBIR is our most common contract type, but we do a considerable amount of OTA, FAR and GSA acquisition work as well.
- Under the supervision of a contracting officer, plan, solicit, evaluate, negotiate, analyze, advise, and assist with contract proposals, awards, and post award administration, including complex contracts and high dollar acquisitions.
- Provide an analysis and evaluation of certified cost and pricing data and other types of pricing information to determine price reasonableness, preparation of contract files and electronic documentation.
- Prepare contracting recommendations that require research and interpretation of evolving government regulations, policies, guidance, and laws.
- Research, analyze and review all applicable policies, guidance, and regulations.
- Provide cost and price analysis recommendations as requested.
- Recommend business solutions for day-to-day contractual challenges.
- Become minimally conversant in a wide variety of technology and government mission areas with the help of our team and our clients.
- Assist in developing a government strategy that aligns with the clients' goals.
- Attend regularly scheduled and pop-up meetings with clients.
- Collaborate with the proposal team to ensure timely submission of proposals.
- Use government requirements documents (RFP, RFI, etc.) to produce proposal templates and compliance matrixes.
- Edit proposals for compliance with government requirements and accuracy.
- Assist with color team meetings to provide the highest-quality feedback to the Client and the writing team and maximize our proposals' chances of success.
- Conduct government-facing business development efforts to gain support for contracts and proposals.
- Ensure both the company and clients adhere to contract terms.
Requirements
- 5 years as a warranted federal government contract officer, contract specialist or government certified acquisition program manager. DoD experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- You are a self-starter capable of managing workloads and schedules with minimal oversight.
- Highly organized and adaptable to different proposal requirements.
- You have strong personal practices and processes in place to ensure your work is of the highest quality, even in a remote environment.
- Professional personality with excellent customer service skills
- Reliable access to a computer, webcam, internet connection, and a reasonably dedicated workspace
- Travel very occasionally (less than 10% travel anticipated)
- Comfortable with all remote work and video conferencing platforms
- Able to reliably contribute a high volume of work and thrive within a 100% remote team.
