Position Summary:The Government Account Manager is responsible for growing revenue and building relationships across Government accounts including Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities (DoD MTF), Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC), Indian Health and Federal Bureau of Prisons representing the full line of Hillrom products and solutions. This role guides the account strategy and integrates Business Unit (BU) activities to execute account strategies.
This position will be serving a territory that covers Texas, Louisana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky and is virtually based, so you need to be located within an hour of a major airport in one of these states.
Responsibilities:- Leads proactive account/territory strategies with Business Unit (BU) Sales and leadership teams for accounts across all Gov Account in territory. Including VA, DoD, IHS, FBOP.
- Develops account/territory strategies and targeting based on Definitive Healthcare, SalesForce and other available data
- Expand VISN/VAMC leadership relationships
- Leverage Business Unit leadership on strategies (i.e. AVP, Contract Director, GM, RVP, VP Clinical Informatics, AVP Construction, etc…)
- Leading deeper penetration in accounts across Hillrom portfolio
- Strengthen distributor relationships and collaboration w/in territory
- Strong growth in funnel across BU
- Develop competitive intel to support proactive account retention and growth strategies
- Account Community Development - Drive rigor and cadence with account/territory reviews with sales & leadership
- Build collaboration with Contract Sales Specialist based on procurement strategies. Pre-Acquisition and Acquisition phases
- Manage Customer Experience - Problem resolution and managing customer escalations and implementation
- Drives territory AOP attainment; MBO & Variable Metrics
- Lead development and execution of long-term strategic and business objectives for government accounts through leveraging cross-GBU sales and support teams and account planning tools
- Build knowledge base of government facilities, prospective opportunities, competitive activity and relevant market information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum 3 years selling to or working for federal agencies is required
- Medical capital experience is strongly preferred
- Military service experience is highly desired
- Ability to navigate complex health systems and find decision makers
- Ability to continuously develop relationships with key contacts in an extremely hierarchical environment with high turnover
- Persistent in pursuing opportunities over multi-year horizon by maintaining a detailed plan and effectively pursuing opportunities
- Responsive to GBUs and seen as true team player
- Organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently
- Approximately 60% overnight travel is required
