Overview:

Responsible for managing all golf related activities including golf shop staff, golf shop, outside services and clubhouse opening & closing. Will work in conjunction with the restaurant, clubhouse and grounds for the best golf experience possible for complete guest service. Is responsible for all golf shop activities including and not limited to merchandising, tee time scheduling, fee collections, tournament management, daily golf course management, lessons, practice range, golf carts and all golf related activities.

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate professional policies and procedures for the golf operation to ensure the highest level of guest service.
  • Supervise and train all golf shop clerk Associates.
  • Ensure proper staffing for various times of the year.
  • Motivate all facility staff members with emphasis on the golf operations to provide the highest level of energy, enthusiasm, and guest service.
  • Perform monthly physical inventories.
  • Formulate, procure, and implement merchandise buying plan.
  • Perform general accounting and bookkeeping functions.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., purchase requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, and accounts payable responsibilities).
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Access and work with systems for redemption of offers and promotions issued by the gaming properties.
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Directly supervises Associates in the outlet on assigned shift.


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required. Previous retail and/or golf operations experience is preferred.


TESTING:

Must be able score at least 85% on a Basic Math test. Must take the required testing identified for this position.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – one or less moving violation within a 12 month period. Must possess a basic knowledge of the technical golf terminology. Must possess excellent communication skills both oral and written.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:

Essential responsibilities include physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifty (50) pounds, and standing/walking 50% of the shift. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout shift. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, as well as extreme cold and heat.

Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions – hot or cold – wet or windy and other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.


Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
